Heritage Project continues

This evening I got a call from the charity I work with (N.I.L.M.D.T.S) to go too one our hospitals and record a families last moments with their child. I must admit that everytime I get a call I'm a little hesitant but I thank my good fortune that I have a healthy baby boy at home and try to give these people something from my heart. The couple from St. Cloud had no choice but delivere the baby at 29 1/2 weeks by cessarian due to medical complications. Please say a prayer for them.

On a happier note: This friday I will be at the VFW in Bloomington to start the last of "The Heritage Project" portraits for the book due out in late october (fingers crossed). This is my first doccumentary piece and being self produced I'm hoping it conveys their stories with dignity, respect and honesty. This project started about 2 years ago when my good friend Mike Rawson made the point that we loose 1500 veterans a day. I couln't help but notice that many of these great heros passed without anyone caring to make a record of their contributions or their history. Don't get me wrong, I think many people have done well to doccument WWII soldiers, but pilots had a truly unique perspective that I feel get's blurred by blanketing the collective together. The pilot featured here today is R.Admiral Paul S. Norby (age 93) from a 2006 shoot at Anoka airport with his SB2C-Helldiver in the background. In the left photo he is in his 30's during the war.Mr. Norby flew over Hiroshima the after the first atomic bomb was dropped by Col. Paul Tibbets and the Enola Gay. When the project is done it will be accompanied by audio interviews in the pilots own words which I plan to make it a multi-media history lesson of sorts.

Heres to all of you with an idea-run with it!
